Zürich is Switzerland’s biggest and wealthiest metropolis. Whilst it has embraced a contemporary culture, the narrow winding lanes and tall church steeples are lovingly maintained, with the ancient centre offering charm. Zürich has emerged as one of Central Europe’s hippest destinations. It will entice you with a host of activities, hikes, museums, tours, and diverse eateries, from fine dining restaurants to street food cafes. In addition to many waterside bars, Züri-West, otherwise known as Zürich’s West End, is the epicentre of the city’s nightlife. Zürich is a shoppers paradise, offering fashion labels from Louis Vuitton to Cartier and Chopard. The world-renowned Bahnhofstrasse district and Viadukt are popular, along with the old town’s quaint designer boutiques.

THINGS TO DO

Grossmünster

The Grossmünster is a Romanesque-style Protestant church completed in 1250 and is one of the city’s four major churches. According to local legend, Charlemagne discovered Zurich’s local saints Felix and Regula’s graves and ordered a church to be erected above them. One of its towers is open to the public and offers excellent views across the city.

Fraumünster Church

The Fraumünster Church is one of Zurich’s most prominent landmarks, built on a former abbey for aristocratic women and founded in 853 by Louis the German for his daughter Hildegard. With highly regarded stained glass windows and the largest organ in the Canton of Zurich.

Lake Zurich

Lake Zurich’s surroundings offer activities and attractions for all. Whether relaxing on the verdant lake shore, sampling regional cuisine, trying water sports or attending hip festivals, Lake Zurich enchants visitors of all ages.
