Things To Do

Helsinki's Cathedral

Helsinki Cathedral is the Finnish Evangelical Lutheran cathedral of the Diocese of Helsinki, built from 1830-1852 as a tribute to the Grand Duke of Finland, Tsar Nicholas I of Russia. A landmark to those arriving by sea, it majestically stands, looking over Senate square.

Suomenlinna

Suomenlinna provides an interesting example of 18th-century European military architecture. It is a sea fortress and nature area which spreads across six linked islands, offering walking trails and parkland and displaying centuries-old artillery and defence. Enjoy exploring Submarine Vesikko, a restored 1930’s vessel and visit the museum, showing military and maritime history. A brewery and waterside restaurants provide refreshment.
