AMSTERDAM

With world-class museums, quirky festivals, theatre, live music, laid-back bars, coffee shops and a host of top-class restaurants, Amsterdam is eclectic and intriguing. Dam Square is the busiest area for visitors, featuring the 17th-century Koninlijk (Royal Palace), the National War Memorial and the Nieuwe Kerk (the New Church). Coupled with this, Dam Square is a vibrant hub for street vendors, street entertainers, cafes and shops. The world-famous Rijksmuseum is a centre point. A must-see for art appreciators and historians is the spectacular Van Gogh museum, opened in 1972, with a stock of over 200 paintings and 500 of Van Gough’s etchings and drawings. A visit to Amsterdam is not complete without a cruise through the charming network of canals.

Things To Do

Rijksmuseum

The Rijksmuseum tells the story of 800 years of Dutch history, as the Dutch national museum founded in 1809, dedicated to Amsterdam’s arts and history. It is home to an incredible 8000 objects, including the masterpieces Milkmaid by Vermeer and Rembrandt’s Night Watch.

Anne Frank House

The Anne Frank House is a biographical museum dedicated to the Jewish wartime diarist Anne Frank. Anne lived in hiding, with her family, in the annexe of the building at Prinsengracht 263 for more than two years. Nazi Police found the family’s concealment place in 1944, and the family was deported to various concentration camps.
